If you are insured

There are three steps: tell my secretary who you are insured with, have your cover confirmed, and bring your authorisation number.

  1. Tell my secretary who you are with

Name your insurer when you request a callback or ring the practice. That is enough to start.

  2. Your cover is confirmed before you come in

My secretary checks that I am recognised by your insurer and what your policy covers for the consultation, before the appointment is set.

  3. Bring your authorisation number

Most insurers ask you to obtain pre-authorisation first. Get yours before the day so the appointment can go ahead as planned.

Common questions

Common questions. For anything not covered here, my secretary will pass your question to me.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can come to me directly. If you do have a referral letter or recent results, bring them.

Do I need an authorisation number?

Usually yes. Most private medical insurers ask you to obtain pre-authorisation before the appointment and to bring the authorisation number with you. My secretary will tell you what your insurer needs once your cover is confirmed.

Where will I be seen?

At The Harley Street Clinic HCA, The Diagnostic Centre, 16 Devonshire Street, London W1G 7AF. I also operate at The Princess Grace Hospital, The Cromwell Hospital, London Men's Clinic at Welbeck London, The London Clinic and Cleveland Clinic London, and my secretary will arrange whichever is most convenient for you.

How soon can I be seen?

There is nothing to book online. Leave your name and number, or telephone during office hours, and my secretary will arrange a time with you.

Will anything go to my GP?

Nothing goes to your GP unless you ask.
